Our client is the UK’s leading independent aerospace company, specializing in aircraft maintenance, modifications and support services. With offices in Australia, Canada and Netherlands they are perfectly placed at the forefront of today’s Aerospace industry.
Due to a period of growth they are seeking to appoint the services of a Stress Engineer to join their operation based in Leiden.
The ideal candidate will have a good background in Air Vehicle Structural Analysis, needs familiarity with both military and civil aircraft certification process, i.e. DEF-STAN 00-970, EASA CS25, FAA FAR25 etc.
The candidate should be able to liaise with other members of the project team and able to coach/mentor less experienced engineers.
You have a high level of experience and competence in using classical hand analysis techniques is essential and you are educated to degree level or equivalent
- Experience in using Finite Element packages such as NASTRAN/PATRAN
- Experience in Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis desirable
- Ability to produce hand written calculations in support of a design
- Repair design analysis is a pre.
You can liaise through project Chief Engineers to ensure all customer requirements are understood and proposed design solution can meet the requirements of the customer and the certification body.
Provide specialist advice to design teams to ensure they understand the certification requirements and associated impact on the structural design requirement.
Be capable of holding signatory approvals for stress and supervise engineers with a full range of experience.
